Alex Rider : Anthony Horowitz

Who doesn't love a good teen spy novel? Alex Rider is one of my favorite (dare I say, my only favorite) spy series. Anthony Horowitz has created the most memorable main character, the 'reluctant hero', who is thrust into a world of villains, heroes, and lots of secrets.
There are 9 books in the series, and one prequel; all of which are absolutely awesome. It's action-packed, thrilling, and gives me a sense of adrenaline even before I open the book.

There are different versions of covers, but the version above is the most beautiful.
Every villain in each book is different. They all have their own story, and sometimes you find yourself feeling sorry for them. Some have been victims of racism, some have been deprived of their rights. But in the end, you will hate every one of them. Their deaths are also very satisfying. Each gets an end they deserve.

Alex Rider is a fourteen year old boy, supposedly normal at first. He lives in Chelsea, London, with his caretaker Jack Starbright. This is the description you have of his life on the Alex Rider website (http://alexrider.com/):

A few months after his birth, Alex's parents were killed in a plane crash. Alex was then raised by his uncle, Ian Rider. They travelled widely, throughout the UK, Europe and the Americas. Alex learned many of his skills on these trips, making him the perfect candidate for MI6.
Alex has spent most of his life in a terraced house in Chelsea, London, Ian Rider's home. The house is located between the King's Road and the River Thames and is twenty minutes from Stamford Bridge. Nearby is Brompton Cemetery, where Ian Rider is buried. Alex presently resides at this address with his legal guardian, Jack Starbright.

After the death of his uncle, MI6 recruited Alex Rider for special assignments.

It's a very vague description. There is so much more guns, fights, sneaking around, breaking into places - etc, etc.
I would write so much more, but I'm afraid of letting loose spoilers. MI6 and Alex have so much going on between them. From the day Alex's uncle dies, secrets of the past is brought to light, and Alex's life is changed forever.
I can only recommend you to read them. If I were to write a word more, I would be spilling all of the juiciest details.
